Empirical data on children's exposure, accidents and behaviour are a necessary prerequisite for the selection of the most educational objectives, as specified in a concrete form by a more theoretical "task demand analysis". As the task description method specifies the influences of particular task conditions on behaviour it is also a prerequisite for operationalizing the concrete operational objectives. For the same reason it will provide the operational criteria for evaluating the effects of instructional programs. In this report an attempt is made to summarize the most empirical findings in this area.
