Samenvatting

The New Zealand Consumers' Institute studied the 1970 Highway Safety Research Institutes dynamic testing of 34 types of child restraint devices and also further tests (mainly static) conducted by consumer organisations in Europe. Where similarities existed between equipment tested overseas and that available in New Zealand the Institute tried to relate the overseas findings to New Zealand conditions. In addition a number of child car seats were bought in New Zealand and static tests were conducted on these using overseas standards.
