Samenvatting
More than 90% of children in the U.S. ride in motor vehicles without the protection of available car seat belts or child restraints. Every year 1400 children die as motor vehicle occupants. This publication looks at the national public health tragedy of children in crashes and reviews some available countermeasures, including the use of child restraint system. State laws and federal regulations concerning child restraints are described.
