Samenvatting

It was studied whether and at which age young children are capable of risk perception in traffic situations. It was hypothesized that 5 and 6 year old children are capable of perceiving risks, but that their representation of such risks would be more global than that of adults, and mainly based on direct accident effects and less of the chance that an accident will happen. This was studied by means of a film showing traffic scenes in which children are involved.
