Some of the problems are examined that will be encountered when highways traverse urban areas where the features of the corridor are manmade. Conflicts between traffic planners and land use planners are being solved as more communities develop overall transportation planning committees. A planned unit development approach is being substituted for the land-use zoning approach. For the urban areas, some suggestions include gravity and vacuum tubes underground and undersea, automatic highways and high-speed rail service. Air space development planning is another possible development which can assist in ordering the urban corridor.
