Samenvatting
The role of a normal coulour vision for safe driving is highlighted. The regulation concerning defective colour vision differs widely from country to country. The risk due to dyschromatopsia (e.g. protonopia) is underlined. A dyschromatopsic subject will find it much more difficult to discriminate a vehicle from his background than a normal person. The adoption of strict criteria in issuing driving licences for such persons is favoured.
