Samenvatting

A computer aided engineering approach has been used to investigate a steering wheel "niggle"on a medium sized passenger car. The approach was in four phases: operating tests, model analysis tests, modal and finite element modelling and problems investigation. Detailed tuning of rubber components in the suspension system was found to be beneficial in desentizing the vehicle to the effects of wheel and out of round or balance.
