Samenvatting

It is not correct to say that in the Netherlands traffic designers do not take cyclists into account. The beautiful designs of crossings with cycle paths surrounding them, show that these road technicians are quite willing to guide the cyclist safety to the other side of the road. However, the present kinds of designs, especially the crossings take just one property of the bike as a starting point: its vulnerability. The structure of a crossing is defined according to car traffic.
