This report gives, in collated form, some results of accident cost analysis for several developing countries. The methodology of accident cost analysis is discussed, problems are identified and a comparative analysis of the different studies is presented. Attempting to place a value on life continues to be a contentious subject and there can be no definitive methodology for conducting such an analysis. Some conclusions are drawn, however, on the merits of particular points of methodology and on the value of such analyses.(Author/publisher)
