Samenvatting

Results are presented of the analysis of the driving records of 50 previously hospitalized psychiatric aftercare patients, 50 psychiatric outpatients who had never previously been hospitalized, and 50 employees of the hospital. Tables show (1) the characteristics of the respondents in terms of age, sex and marital status; (2) a breakdown of traffic violation frequencies according to the diagnosis of the patients; and (3) the type of violation recorded on the driver information records. It is suggested that taking away a mental patient's licence should be based on a detailed examination.
