Samenvatting

Certain approaches concerning a different behaviour in traffic between men and women, as well as attitudinal and value differences are generally accepted and shared by professionals of the road safety field. This study tries to go into fine details over such differences in the various age and sex sub-groups in Europe by using the information available from the SARTRE project. Future actions aimed at improving road safety might be more effective, if the characteristics of each of the eight sub-groups are clearly distinguished. The goal of this study is descriptive and not explanatory.
