Samenvatting
The risks of moving chemicals by rail and highway are compared using a distribution risk decision support tool. Described are the problems faced by those who must evaluate how hazardous materials are to be transported, what attributes are needed in a decision support tool that quantities the risk along competing routes, and how these results are used to select a mode and a route. This is achieved through the presentation of a case study involving the movement of anhydrous ammonia. (A)
