The properties between US side impact and EURO(EEC) side impact are very different. The two impacts have very different barriers, dummies and test methods. So the test results are different as well. Euro Barrier tends to give more and greater intrusion in the B-pillar region and US barrier does so into the floor and A-pillar regions. The injuries are also different. Even if a vehicle gets good results for European side impact test, it is not guaranteed that the vehicle will get good results for US side impact test. The injuries of chest are affected by B-pillar in European side impact, but in US side impact, its effect is not so much. For the covering abstract see ITRD E116488.
