Samenvatting
The problems encountered when attempting to make comparisons of international data on motor vehicle accidents are discussed. The use of different units leads to different comparisons, some of which may be misleading. A unit which measures exposure to risk is the most appropriate. United Nations data are examined and it is shown that New Zealand compares favourably with developed countries.
