Samenvatting
From the comparison of the parameters observed at sites in Great Britain and Germany indications and tendencies concerning behaviour could be derived. The conclusions, supported by the observed data can be summarized as follows: (1) on the average the German drivers use smaller gaps and allow shorter lead times when for entering the major road than British drivers. This behaviour is therefore riskier (2) the speeds on German rural highways are higher, and (3) German drivers approach the intersection from the minor road at higher speeds than the British driver.
