Samenvatting

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission estimated that an average of 254 allterrain vehicle (ATV)–related deaths occurred annually in the 1990s. Despite widespread education and training efforts by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and major ATV manufacturers, average annual deaths have risen to 267 since 1995. Renewed efforts are directed at adolescents younger than 17 years, among whom more than one third of ATV-related deaths have occurred. (Author/publisher)
