Samenvatting

It has been shown that the effects of a collision on the occupants of a given vehicle depend on the following parameters: (1) The speed variation that the occupant undergoes; (2) The level of deceleration; and (3) Vehicle deformation. It is clear that when a collision occurs, the first of these parameters governs the others. It is therefore necessary to determine the "speed variation" parameter.
