Samenvatting

Specific countermeasures which can be applied to the drunk driver problem generally fall into two primary categories. The first involves a legal approach traditionally based on sanctions and deterrence. The second is an educational approach designed to prevent drunk driving by making the general public more aware of its negative ramifications. The Eastern Illinois University has combined both approaches in the 1984 Comprehensive Alcohol Safety Program (CASP) as described here.
