Samenvatting

A brief review of Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory's history in simulating human body kinematics via mathematical model for automotive safety research is given. A number of models are described and examples of their application presented. A study of pedestrian impacts with a vehicle exterior is also given. Future plans for the study of biomechanics of vehicle impact through the use of computer simulations are discussed.
