Samenvatting

A flywheel incorporated to the vehicle to store energy, can recover part of the energy that would be dissipated during braking. This energy recovery is achieved by increasing the flywheel speed during braking. The flywheel returns energy to the vehicle during the next acceleration period. In this paper, the mathematical model utilized to simulate the performance of a hybrid vehicle, similar to a trolleybus, is presented, as well as some of the results of the simulations.
