Concentration problems behind the wheel; a brief literature study. This report was written in response to the Ministry of Transport's intention of making a study of the consequences of concentration problems while driving. The Ministry's department Traffic Research Centre has drawn up a project plan for this study to be carried out by TNO, the Dutch organization for applied scientific research. For this project, SWOV has made a literature study of what is already known about concentration problems in traffic. The purpose of this study was not only to answer this question, but also to advise the Traffic Research Centre about the simulator study of driver concentration problems to be done by TNO.
