Samenvatting

This may seem very black and bleak, talking about what could happen to you if you are injured. But we’re doing it because, in New Zealand, we’re world-class at hurting ourselves. 968 people were killed in ‘accidents’ last year. Another 93,854 people were moderately to seriously injured. Yet for some reason we still just see these as impersonal statistics. Accidents happen to other people, not to us. At ACC we are concerned, above all, with preventing injuries. It is why we launched ThinkSafe last year – to get people to think about their own and others’ safety. To get people to accept that many injuries can, with just a small amount of thought, be so easily prevented. (Author/publisher)
