Samenvatting
Much of the road infrastructure of Japan is not designed for excessively large or heavy vehicles. While the total weight limit of vehicles has been increased from 20 to 25 t, only 33,000 km of roads are suitable for use at this weight. From the point of view of road maintenance, it is planned to prevent the uncontrolled operation of excessively large or heavy vehicles. The use of intelligent transport systems to support the efficient operation of excessively large or heavy vehicles and plan road maintenance is discussed. (A*)
