Samenvatting

It is well known that traffic accidents involving pedestrians crossing the street while cars turn left or right frequently occur at intersections at night. Because of this, road illumination is provided in the area around intersections, but accidents still occur in which the driver seems not to notice a pedestrian until it is too late. In this article, an example of a system for reducing the number of nighttime accidents at intersections is presented along with the results of experiments.
