Samenvatting

Minimizing obstructed fish passage through culverts is an important step that an engineer must take when designing and installing culverts. This process will often require consultation with a fish biologist to ensure that all fish passage considerations are recognized. The existing research is reviewed and synthesized. A good set of recognized guidelines to be used to design culverts for roads in rural areas is provided. This paper appears in transportation research record no. 1291, Fifth international conference on low-volume roads, may 19-23, 1991, raleigh, north carolina, volume 1.
