Samenvatting

A number of studies in Great Britain and many Western European countries have observed remarkable consistency in total daily travel. However, a study in the Netherlands found that average travel time had increased by 4.9 minutes between 1979 and 1998. Sydney has undertaken travel surveys over a number of years and this paper investigates the results for an Australian city to compare and contrast with results found internationally.
