Samenvatting

By means of two earlier visual search experiments, it is demonstrated that an item unique in form did not automatically attract attention to its location (see PB 30723). In the present study, these experiments were replicated for color implying that always one item was uniquely colored among the other colored items in the display. Result data provide additional evidence for conclusions reached earlier for the form dimension, denoting that objects can be conspicuous without necessarily attracting attention.
