Samenvatting

The problem of traffic control in an oversaturated road network using conventional red-green lights is given. The main purpose of the control is to store the cars in roads where it can be tolerated. A design concept for the synthesis of a control system is suggested. The design concept is applied to a simple model of a circular road with N nodes. An example of computer in simulation is given. It is shown that the moving ratios in oversaturated networks depend on the green time of the signals.
