Control of pollution from new motor vehicles and new motor vehicle engines : revisions to motor vehicle emission certification procedures.

This action revises the motor vehicle emission certification procedures for 1982 and later model year light-duty vehicles, light-duty trucks, and heavy-duty engines.These revisions are designed to provide specific reductions in the cost and resource requirements over the current certification program. These revisions to the motor vehicle certification program were announced by the Vice President on April 6, 1981 in an EPA notice of intent published on April 13, 1981.
