Control of traffic flows on urban (roads and motorways) networks and methods of measuring the level of service.

Methods employed to control traffic at junctions are discussed. Overall area control by means of computer operation of signals is considered. Parking restraints and comprehensive traffic management are discussed. Two experiments undertaken in overall traffic management are briefly described.
