Cost comparison of busway and railway rapid transit. Paper presented at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Highway Research Board HRB, Washington, D.C., January 1973.

For varying passenger capacity on hypothetical new routes, costs of bus-on-bus ways with train rapid transit, are compared. Operating and maintenance costs for near-future bus systems or train systems are presented. The paper also makes a prognosis of future developments in train and bus technology that will enhance the quality of service and afford some possibility of cost reduction. A discussion is added.
