Samenvatting
Some of the factors affecting the cost effectiveness of street lighting installations are discussed and energy conservation in relation to the different types of light source is compared. A table summarizes the typical costs of energy and light for common street lighting lamps. Mention is made of lantern design with particular design and the increased use of high-mast lighting. The advantages of high-mast lighting, are discussed together with tunnel lighting where costs are frequently unnecessarily high.
