Cost-effectiveness evaluation of freeway design alternatives. Paper presented at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Highway Research Board, Washington D.C., January 1973.

Using a traffic evaluation model, the authors looked at total passenger time as a measure of effectiveness of various freeway design alternatives. Combining these measures with annual costs for the various designs permits determination of the cost-effectiveness of each design alternative. An example problem is discussed.
