Cost evaluation for four Federal Motor Vehicle Standards Task VII cost review of pedestrian safety modifications.

Minor changes have beer. proposed in a 1978 Pontiac LeMans front bumper system modified by Battelle Labs. (Columbus, Ohio) to improve pedestrian impact protection. Generally resilient plastic foam has substituted for the rigid steel bumper components. The minor changes proposed in the prototype configuration are for improved production possibilities. A cost estimate has been made of the original production design and the revised prototype.
