Samenvatting

Despite the fact that CIREN (Crash Injury Research and Engineering Network) cases include only occupants of newer vehicles with modern occupant restraints, some drivers/ passengers still sustain moderate-to-severe brain injuries. The purpose of this analysis is to describe the crash characteristics for such patients seen at one center, and to examine outcomes for a subset of traumatic brain injury (TBI) cases with one-year follow-up data.
