Samenvatting

Results of a series of vehicle impact tests of modified water-cell crash cushion, wherein water cells are progressively replaced by energy-absorbing cartridges constructed of vermiculite concrete are reported. Harness-restrained human drivers in medium-weight vehicles report no discomfort in impacts into this barrier at speeds greater than 50 mph.
