Criteria for design and deployment of advanced graphic guide signs. Paper presented at the 51st Annual Meeting of the Highway Research Board HRB, Washington, D.C., January 1972.

The authors undertook an extensive laboratory study of diagrammatic guide signs. The study shows that better driving performance at certain types of interchanges is permitted by diagrammatic signs than by conventional signs. Emphasis was placed on deriving guides for sign design.
