This SVT report deals with criteria for traffic signal installation on rural intersections. The criteria involve: 1) traffic flow; 2) accident rates and perception of safety; 3) noise and air-pollution; 4) energy consumption; and 5) cost of installation and maintenance. The concluding chapter describes ways of combining these different criteria.
