Samenvatting

The possibility that certain drugs may impair driving skills is a concern shared by the medical community, regulatory bodies, the transport industry and the general public alike. The issue is of current relevance because drug use is set to increase markedly over the next decade. The purpose of this review is to restate and reassess the main issues which surround the relationship between drug use and driving ability, to the exclusion of alcohol for which there is already a substantial literature.
