Samenvatting
The authors of the Brunel study contend that their study shows that “roadside advertising has a clear detrimental effect on lateral control, increases mental workload and eye fixations”. The evidence for these effects will be reviewed in this critique of the study, along with other crucial aspects of the research. It will be argued that the evidence is weak in most key respects, equivocal in others, and based on a flawed methodology. (Author/publisher)
