Samenvatting

In 1991, two studies were conducted to identify the cross-sector benefits resulting from the provision of accessible public transport services. The results of each study, based on surveys of people with mobility difficulties, and interviews with professionals working in the areas of health and social services provision, are presented in the report together with an overall summary. Both studies conclude that there is a strong relationship between the ability to use public transport and the provision of domiciliary services, and that the supply of accessible public transport services may lead to the realisation of considerable cross-sector benefits.
