Samenvatting

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 1994 includes 20 papers that examine the ConnectOregon program for funding multimodal transportation projects, a decision support system for combined transportation and utility construction strategy, benchmarking of large design-build highway projects, an evaluation tool for determining the performance of construction project partnering, safety impacts of access management techniques, and an examination of a state department of transportation participation in the land development process. This issue also explores factors affecting worksite mode choice, the impact of zoning decisions in transport planning, the effects of transportation accessibility on residential property values, the influence of accessibility on innovation, assessing the benefits of microscopic activity-based models of travel demand, development of a fleet allocator model, and the costs of urban congestion. In addition, this TRR investigates park-and-ride service modeling in a multimodal transportation network with elastic demand; dynamic traffic assignment modeling for incident management; a geographic information system as the framework for an integrated land use planning model; public participation in an urban transportation project; public outreach in pedestrian planning; a new paradigm for public involvement and scenario development in transportation planning; and envisioning and shaping the future of an international port city.
