Samenvatting

Crash analysis for the year 1971 in Pennsylvania indicates 81.696 crashes causing 667 deaths, 1604 bodily injuries and 59984 cases of property damage. Alcohol was the largest identifiable causative factor among the fatalities and related to 5915 crashes which caused bodily injury or property damage. Visual factors had prime causative identification in 72 deaths, 1604 bodily injuries, and 3639 cases of property damage. Such efforts to identify causative data underline revised visibility and illuminating standards.
