The Road Construction Authority in Victoria has approved the use by cyclists of certain parts of the Princess freeway. The trial, which will last for a period of one year, commenced on 12 March 1986. This paper discusses the basis for the selection of the freeways, the changes to the signs and the ancillary works required to implement the trial and the monitoring program to enable changes in usage and any trends to be detected for.
