Samenvatting
A clinical investigation was performed on 82 patients with severe concussions of the brain only and 226 patients with concussions of the brain combined with fractures of the skull. In 13.9 % there was a post-traumatic epilepsy. 14.2 % were incapable of working. The older individuals seldom recovered completely. The length of unconsciousness, age, correct diagnosis and therapy, and the avoidance of secondary complications affect the prognosis of the severe skull and brain injury.
