On the hand of many influencing factors a comparison is made of the general and specific questions of road traffic safety in the Federal Republic of Germany and in the United States. It is tried to define the most vulnerable road user, in dependence with age and sex, and the influence of location, the road and the time on the accident, to decrease the number of accidents in both countries.
