Daytime running lights project. III: Pilot validation study of a field detection experiment.

A 2-choice reaction time task was done in which Ss were to detect an oncoming vehicle on each film clip, and to indicate which side of a centreline the vehicle was approaching on. Analyses indicate that task variables which were identified as potential problems did not significantly affect detection performance, and that field results could be predicted from laboratory data.
