Samenvatting
An explanation is given of the 30 kilometre per hour regulation in the Netherlands, the immediate reason for its introduction and how can it be used. The regulation is not only considered as a speed limit, but above all as an instrument to reduce noise in residential areas. This is why there are conditions for the application of the limit; these conditions are explained. An account of the discussion that followed the lecture is also given.
