Samenvatting
The Dutch government has instructed an official research-bureau to investigate the social acceptability of measures to decrease the use of cars. The author does not agree with the set-up of this enquiry. According to him this set-up implies to a certain extent a policy which is the domain of politicians. An alternative design for such an investigation is presented.
