Samenvatting
The behaviour of road users is not only determined by their knowledge, skill, values and standards, but also by the quantity of information which they can perceive at the same time, by the way in which they experience a certain situation as dangerous, and the amount of risk they want to take. This is shown in the influence of the design of the infrastructure on traffic behaviour. An integrated approach to the desired infrastructural conditions together with technical measures, enforcement, education, publicity can reinforce their mutual efficiency.
